Door Family Not Cutting Joined Walls

We've inherited this mystery swing door (was not the original builder) and I cannot figure out why it will not cut joined walls (see photo with OOTB swing door for reference):

For some reason, it is only recognizing the original host and only cutting that wall in particular. I've attached the V20 family for further investigation. Any thoughts?

Extend the Void outwards from the face of the Host Wall, Check "Cuts  with Void when Loaded", reload and cut  the joining walls manually in the Project.

...you mean something like this where the door is cutting thru 4 Walls that are joined together in the Project?

If so, the Void Opening in the Family needs to be deep enough to be able to penetrate through all the Walls.

Since the opening is a simple rectangle (i.e. no stepped jambs) then I would not use a void to cut the wall.  Delete it and create a Cut Opening instead.  Then the door can cut any joined walls, no matter how thick they are.

Yeah, the latter...my understanding was that the void in the family is constrained to the wall family so when you join the two walls in the project, the door would recognize the new width dimension and cut accordingly. I'm getting a constraint error when trying to modify the void in the family:

Do I need to assign a dimension to the void extrusion?

Goal is to not have to manually cut the walls in the project. Thanks for the reply btw.

If the walls are joined like I showed in my screenshot, then all you need to do is edit family, unconstrain the void (e.g. Remove Constraints), make it deep enough and reload it into project.

...or swap out the Void Opening for an Opening Cut.  But an Opening will only cut through walls that are JOINED.

Cool that worked, thanks.

I show how to take out the Opening in a wall and add a void in this session of the Revit Hints & Hacks Community Conversations.
