Hi guys,
I am trying to make a nested door family and it seems like I have a problem with the door panel.
Everytime I adjust the width and height of the door, the frame of the door takes the correct position. The door panel seems to stay at the previous width and height, but if I change any other parameter (like the panel thickness or door swing angle) the panel seems to also take the correct width and height.
It's almost as if the 3D view of the door panel is 1 step behind of the new applied parameters. In the 2D floor plan view, the panel looks to work properly and immediately follows the new parameters.. Anyone familiair with this strange problem? What have I done wrong?
Thank you in advance,
Selim
EDIT: I also have trouble with the 2D door swing, the family can't be made when I choose to have a 0 degree angle!
Try changing the parameters in the panel family to be instance, then link them to the type parameters in the parent family.
As for the door rotation, take a look at this blog.... Basically you need to build a rig that will not let your door, or any other family you are working on get to 0 as then Revit doesn't know which direction it is supposed to go from there.
Problem with the 2D door is the swingline. When you put the door at 0° the swing length will have a length of 0 mm which is not allowed.
If you would adjust the swing line a little so that this situation does not happen it will work.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
I responded to a similar question with a sample file a few weeks ago. Basically you can make it works for any angle, even 0 degree. It is in 2017 format so I am not sure if you will be able to open it. If not, let me know so I will try to create a 2016 version.
