Revit 19.2.10.7
20190225_1515(x64)
2019.2.1

IFC Alternative UI 2019.2.0

This is a common problem with many AddIns and extensions and other messages during Revit startup.

Today the problem is with the following message:

"External Tools - Duplicated AddInId"
"Failed to initialize the add-in "BIM IFC Exporter" because an application already exists with this AddInId node.
The AddInId node is a Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) used to identify the add-in application. Revit already has an application registered with the indicated GUID."

For some reason the message also appears twice. The cause of the message is probably this bug I've reported against a different extension pack from Autodesk Platinum Partner NTI: https://github.com/DuncanLithgow/EnTeeEeToolsIssues/issues/11

I haven't noticed this problem in general very much and no longer have access to this specific software mentioned.

I solved an issue similar to this.  For me this started after upgrading to Bluebeam Revu 20--without uninstalling the prior version of Revu that I had (2018).  The same message then came up every time I opened REVIT.  In my case, it was "BluebeamAddin" that was duplicated.  I went to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2019,  Renamed "bluebeamAddin2018.addin" to "bluebeamAddin2018.old" (basically so that REVIT can't find that file) and thus the new "bluebeamAddin20.addin" is allowed to load.

I recently has this problem again and found that as @dvisani suggests it was an upgrade problem. So there were two version of the same application during startup fighting to have their GUID recognized. So it seems that removing the old add-ins (not always that easy) might be the solution.

How is this even considered as a solution?

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
