Divide Volume by Area

Hi all,

Am I mistaken, but can you not divide Volume by Area (or vice versa) (on a schedule for example)?

In this instance, I was trying to schedule thicknesses of materials of a wall, by dividing each material's volume by their area - as Revit apparently doesn't include the thickness parameter in the available fields automatically... Haven't figured a way around it, that doesn't include updating data manually.

You can, the issue is you're trying to use different units in the formula.

Solution:

As @blank... said you are using a 'Number' type value (unitless) for your calculated parameter when it should be a 'Length' type.

If you want your parameter to be a 'Number' type you would need to add a "divide by 1" to your formula to get rid of the units.

That's interesting. I could have sworn I tried that one. Maybe there was a typo that time... Anyway. Thanks! This works too.
