divide area by count in schedule

hi!

I'd would like to know the average size of an apartment in several buildings. I try to do this by making a yes/no-box in areas that I name apartment. Every apartment has their own area. Then I made a calculated parameter "if(apartment, 1, 0)" in that way i get numbers of apartments in the building. This gives me the right amount of apartments. Then I try to divide the total area by the amount of apartments by another calculated formula saying "area/amount" where amount is the first calculated parameter. The result is still the grand total of the area. It's like it's first divides the area of every single apartment by the amount, which off course is one, and then adding up the results which gives me the same area that i allready had in the beginning.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Sounds awfully convoluted. What about using a Calculated Parameter by Percentage of Totals?

Something along these lines:

Thanks! But that's not really what I wanted, I'm sorry if my text was confusing.

We have a total of about 18000 square meters and a total of about 370 apartments. The result I want is 18000/370=48,6 square meters per apartment. But since it's still a sketch the numbers are varying, that´s why i need the schedule.

Your post wasn't confusing at all. It's just your methodology to get where you want to go is convoluted.  What I showed you is how to get to where you want to go - simply.
