I have been looking for a way to model quicker as I survey, as opposed to sketching, marking dimensions and drawing in Revit back at the office. Does anyone have a solution or idea? So if I click on a temp. dimension and take a dim. on the disto, it will change the distance in Revit? I am aware there will still be some manual drawing.
@stevie_kelly - so, essentially what you are looking for is to "drive" certain parts of Revit with a distance measuring tool, as opposed to keying in the values?
I feel like this should be addressed to the survey equipment manufacturer.

@SteveKStafford the PKNail Software looks good, but it's £1600. It's a bit expensive; I might see if it can be done using Dynamo and by making a plugin.
I use a Leica Disto D330i (discontinued I think) with bluetooth. Once it connects to the Disto TransferPC app on my Surface, I start Revit. If you select a dimension as if you were going to type it in, hit the bluetooth button on the Disto and it fills in the value. It takes some finagling to get the value format correct (search online how to do this), but works well once set up. I did an existing conditions Revit model of a four-story, 60 room apartment building by myself in about three days with Disto, Surface and Revit.
