Disto to Revit

I have been looking for a way to model quicker as I survey, as opposed to sketching, marking dimensions and drawing in Revit back at the office. Does anyone have a solution or idea? So if I click on a temp. dimension and take a dim. on the disto, it will change the distance in Revit? I am aware there will still be some manual drawing. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure I am following?

Are you documenting an existing building? Have you considered getting a laser scan/point cloud and then importing it into Revit to build from?

You can also use ReCap for this purpose.

Do a search on Point Clouds into Revit.

@cbcarch thank you for your comment. I am aware of point cloud to Revit, I do that for commercial and other large properties, but for a small house, I use a Leica disto as it is more efficient. But I would like to link the disto to Revit somehow. Any other ideas?

Hi @stevie_kelly

Can you try the mobile APP  (and check the options, you could possibly link in a dwg format in Revit for later use)

Regards,

Hi @Viveka_CD I am aware of the app, but I still think this is doing work twice for no reason. It would be nice to do it straight in Revit. Hopefully this will be developed at some stage

Hi @stevie_kelly

I see what you are saying.

If you looking for a feature to get implemented, I suggest you post your idea at the Ideas-page. Please add your comments once you've created the idea.

Regards,
