Display When Cut in Section

Is there any way to force a nested detail component to only Display When Cut in Section?

Thanks, eh.

Depends on what category. Can you give more information or share the family?

Using a wall based generic family - the concept work nicely in plan...

See the attached and ask if you have any questions.

Toan is absolutely correct. If you nest that detail into another "cuttable" family and then load that host family into the project, it will show the detail only when when cut in view,

Edit: Toan - We must have been posting at the same time. It's a tie.

Thanks!

I was trying to do something along those lines but slipped up along the way...

Hi again, I was just revisiting this family and noticed if you take an elevation view from the other side you do see the window head component in the view but the sill component is hidden. Curious - will post if I find and an answer to this one...probably a wayward mask somewhere.

The problem was in the lines - When I deleted all of them (converting didn't seem to help) the masking behaved as expected. I did have a mask in the head detail that worked on the one view only.
