For no good reason I am constantly getting a Display Error, stating 'An error has occured while drawing the contents of this window. This window shall be closed.
This is happening whilst I am trying to create a new family type and happens every time I select the extrusion that I have newly created and in any view! I cannot get on, any suggestions as to what is causing this? Only recent PC issue that might be related was a W8 update.
Difficult to find the reasons for these.I am not sure when this started and what you have done to resolve the problems. So here some things you can try
-Restart Revit
-Restart your computer
-In revit change the options with regards to your graphics cards (e.g. hardware acceleration)
-Use different family template
-Check for Revit updates and hotfixes
-Check for updates graphics card
-Check for windows updates (e.g .net libraries)
-Repair Revit
-Go back to previous restore point
-Reinstall Revit
Louis
Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
Hi @L.Maas
We are a practice of 150 Revit users are we are experiencing the display error up to 75 times a week on different Revit files when carrying out various tasks, which we are unable to replicate on demand.
Please can you elaborate on these a little.
-In revit change the options with regards to your graphics cards (e.g. hardware acceleration)
-Use different family template
-Check for windows updates (e.g .net libraries)
Thanks,
Matt

Change the settings to see if that helps.
@Anonymous wrote:-Use different family template
The OP was experiencing this issue while creating a new family. Us ing a different template rules out file corruption.
@Anonymous wrote:-Check for windows updates (e.g .net libraries)
Make sure Windows is fully updated.
These answers seems quite obvious. What are you struggling with?
BTW, you really should start your own thread so that you can mark a solution to your problem which sounds different from the OP.
