Disable Precast Off by default in the Revit.ini file

Not applicable

Hello,

Having some  trouble with revit families when Precast is enabled. I would like to turn it Off by default when users start Revit (it also reduce resources when it is turned off).

I do NOT want remove the AddInn, I only would like the know the command and group under which I need to disable it.

PS Is there a way to enable a kind of logging when you execute revit command that can be used to set certain parameters by default in the revit.ini file

Hi @Anonymous ,

What Revit version are you using? We used to have issued with families for Revit 2018. Is that the case?

Kind regards,

Hi,

I'm using Revit 2019.2  and have tested it on different platforms.
When Precast is active the family has an option to make a label visible/invisible  ...this does not work properly...

Sometimes it works if you turn on the visiblilty of something else and then then the needed item can be turned off.

Best regards

Hi @Anonymous ,

As Rafal pointed out there is no way of disabling the Precast upon start-up. The only way is to turn it Off with the button or uninstall it. Regarding the visibility option, we have an option for lines inside families that might interact with your families.

Kind regards,

Hi Bogdan,

Can you give me some more details about what you mean by "...we have an option for lines inside families that might interact with your families"  do I need to enable an option within revit project or within my family????

Can you point me in the right direction..

Thanks in advance

Hi Erik,

Here is the help link describing our lines we are using for shop drawings:

Let me know if it helps.

Hi Bogdan,

Thanks for the link.. I look into it.
However the families I'm having trouble with have nothing to do with PreCast.

The door families are provided by a partner called C3A and they work great without Precast module
However I wonder how  the Precast (AddInn)  module influence the behavior of our door families because when the Precast functionality is turned off (using the ribbon) the door families work 100%.

I'll check if the provided link has any effect on the libraries

Hi Erik,

I would need a short video to understand the behavior that is altered. Also a family would help so that we would reproduce the issue on our side.  Once we reproduce it we can provide more information about why is this happening.

Rind regards,

The Precast module is still stalling file openings for no reason related to my work. This page describes the issue, but it is not really solved, just worked around in various scenarios. I would like to disable the Precast module.
