Dimensions sometimes dont display correctly

I was just wondering if anybody else also has this problem, I can not figure out why this is happening.

Sometimes a dimension that is one piece will show up like its 2 seperate ones. (see attached image)

Even if I edit and replace the markers it will show up like this.

Has anybody a idea why this is happening?

I´m happy with every idea, the only solution I found is completly deleting the dimension and replacing it or "faking" the dimension by placing another one on top which covers the gap.

Are we talking Temporary Dimensions?

...or disappearing Dims.  If the reference is hidden in the View, then so is the Dim.

...one more FWIW: continuous DIM Strings (e.g. "Entire Wall") will recognize Grid Lines as references. Perhaps this is an approach to mitigate your issue.  Still, I'm not sure I understand the issue. Just fishing here.  Did I catch anything?

No, this is a permanent Dimension and the references are on the outer Edge of the Wall, so it should be visible. Grid lines propably would solve the problem, but im trying to find the reason why its disappearing in the first place.

Too be honest Im just curious if anybody knows why this visual bug is happening.

But thank you for answering :grinsendes_Gesicht_mit_lächelnden_Augen:

View Range may be the culprit. Again, if the reference isn't captured by the View Range, the Dim won't show.  Is it, by chance, a Stacked Wall?

BTW: happy to look at the file if you want to post it here.

@Gerdes~I'm thinking this could be a variation on the issue described in this article: Dimension Annotation is moving after saving and opening in Revit

If you change the witness lines for the dimension so that they are not on a Cut Edge, does that prevent the issue from occurring?

I see where you are coming from, but view range is not the problem. It is a wall that is completly visible and is in the view range. If you look at the picture you can see that if I place a new dimension, there isn´t a problem. Eventhough they reference the same object and the same edge.

Sadly I cannot share the file because its classified.

The references are on a normal wall edge, so I think the problem with the cut edge doesnt apply there, There is nothing that is cut.

I can only select the outer edge of the wall, I dont have other options for changing the witness line.
