Dimensioning to Wrapped Core Layers at a Mirrored Door

I need to set out the core of a wall that has finish layers wrapping at inserts (a structural metal stud wall with plasterboard fire protection).  This has been going well until I come to a door that has been mirrored when Revit won't snap to the core layers, only the finish layers (see image below).

Anyone know if I can sort this without having to create a different family for each door type or by adding reference planes into the door families (there are quite a few different door families)?

Thanks.

are you actually mirroring the door or does the door have a horizontal flip control as part of the family?

I'm using the flip controls in the door family.

I've also now tried mirroring 'manually' using the Mirror tool and this doesn't work either.

As a test I tried copy-pasting the wall, doors and dimension line into a new project and this seems to work; it allows me to edit the dimension lines and they now snap to the core layer!? However, if I copy-paste into a new location within the same project, it doesn't work!

when you say "Mirrored" do you mean the door was mirrored using the mirror tool (modify ribbon > Modify panel > mirror) or were they mirrored using the Flip control in the family ?

if the door does not have flip controls they can be added by editing the family (Create ribbon > Control panel). the flip is controlled by the Front/Back and Left/Right reference plains.

I've tried both options without luck, see posts above.

If you don't come right, post the family here so that we can test it.

Thanks everyone, I've sorted it now.  It seems to have been a problem with the wall rather than the door. Through trial and error I found another wall that seemed to work ok so I just duplicated that and changed all its properties to match the first wall.  This seems to have fixed the problem.

Flip the wall it was hosted on to match Int/Ext with that in the door family...

Alternatively, you can set the wall to "Wrap Both" Interior and Exterior and set the Closure plane to the middle of the host...that will sort out the snapping issue to core at inserts.

Wall Closures Ref. Planes' inset distances can be driven via parameters.  Why not just change those to resolve dilemma?

What about driving your Wall Closure Ref. Planes' insets distances with Type Parameter and making "mirror" Types? For instance: Door Type "2868" and Door Type "2668M" ("M" for Mirrored).  The only difference between the two, is the Wall Closure Ref. Planes insets are reversed.  In other words, 2868's Wall Closure Ref. Plane is inset 3" from the hinge side, and 2868M's Wall Closure Ref. Plane is inset 3" from the opposite side.
