Dimensioning on a slope

I've never dealt with this issue before, but is it possible to dimension a parking place family hosted to a slope?  Another way to ask, can one dimension on the face of an object that happens to have a slope?

Any help much appreciated

- If the slops is insignificant, just create a dim style with round units may be enough to do the job.

- If the slope is significant, then override dim value and add an Unicode character (via the right click menu) to the value so Revit accepts it.

- Or, if you are a BIM purist, create a tag that report the actual dimension of the family and tag it.

It seems like (at least in Revit 2023) it will snap dimensions to the active work plane.  So if you pick the face of the ramp and dimension, that works.

Are you talking about Dimensioning in Plan View. Like trying to pull a Dimension for say the depth of an 18'-0" Parking Stall placed on a downhill slope, but the Dim the only measures the projected depth.  What about a 3D Plan View with Dims placed on a Named Work Plane that is parallel to ground?

Does not work in 2022 or 2023. Only way would be to create a tag or dimension in a top down 3D view. That does work if you set the proper WP for each slab with different slopes. Below are 2 slabs copied, one then sloped and model lines drawn at 8' the other still flat with model lines at 8'

I'm speaking of a specific use case in which I'm using a parking space family that hosts to the face of an object.  I misspoke when I said ramp, because apparently Revit can't recognize the face of a ramp - but said family will host to a sloped floor object just fine.  In the case of dimensioning, one would obviously want to show the parking spaces line to line - which implies setting the work plane to the face of that object then running a string of dimensions in alignment with the sloped parking spaces such that you get the actual paint to paint dimension.  I don't see setting a dimension workaround as a solution...

I assumed you meant a floor.

Unless you want a tag then you will have to use a 3D top down view like I show above.
