Hi
Is there a way to add text automatically when you draw dimension? At the position like the picture below?
Thank you^^

Hi joo,
Create a completely new dimension family (detail item). Add the normal parameters you see in the dimension families (witness length etc).
(my text is in the middle as shown, but......) If you want the text in there as you have shown, just create a reference plane about 75mm off the end of your witness line, and lock your generic annotation family to that reference plane, so when your dimension changes, your text moves with it ![]()
Let me know how you go!
Thanks
Sorry
I'm pretty new to revit.
I tried but didn't work.
I couldn't find the ordinary dimension family to have a look how it works either.
If you don't mind could you explain more in detail please.![]()
Thats okay ![]()
Bit hard to explain I suppose. There are ways to manipulate the Detail Item family so that it reads length + lets you add text.
How many of these do you plan on putting in? This family is good for something simple and quick. Not good for a huge project ![]()
I've attached a simple family for you to have a play with, keep in mind its for 1:100 scales
Thanks!
