Difficulty Selecting Vertical Opening

I am using a vertical roof opening to remove a portion of the wing roofs where the rear gable roof is (See reference image below). The vertical roof opening is approximately where the red lines are. It cuts through the two wing roofs which are modeled as one roof.

However, I cannot tab through and select the vertical opening. I have encountered this before. Is there any sure way I to find and select the vertical opening?

You can use a cross window to select a bunch of things and use Filter to get the Vertical Opening among them.

Similar to this:

Not sure I understand what you are trying to do.  Is your roof a monolithic construct?   If not, maybe that would be the better approach.

@barthbradley

I decided to use two roofs because the wings go under the center gable roof a bit:

@ToanDN The filter selection tool did the trick. Thanks.
