Different Level to Level heights in Same Linked Files

Is it possible for two instances of the same linked file to have, for instance, different Level 1 elevations?

My scenario is that I have several identical buildings on a site with varying slope. Some buildings are abutting, so I'd like LEVEL 2 on up to be at the same elevation, but LEVEL 1 will have a difference of maybe 2' between the buildings. There are many instances of this scenario on my site. So rather than creating new files just to accommodate the first floor difference, I was hoping there was a way to parametrically change the first floor elevations. Here is a sketch of an example situation:

I'm also open to other solutions that will cut down the amount of redundancy.

Thank you.

You should investigate Shared Coordinates.

Take a look here:

You could do that with Design Options.  But I rather have the identical levels as one link and the odd level as different links.

After looking at options, I think we'll start with doing design options. We have a lot of files, and splitting them up even more is going to balloon the number of project files. Thanks for your input.
