Different contour lines settings on splitted surface

Hi everyone.

I've a topography, I splitted it in 3 parts and I'd like to have different contour line settings on each one. It's possible? How?

I'll let you a capture. I want the red contour line at intervals of 2.5 meters, the bue contour line at intervals of 0.50 meters and the gray contour line at intervals of 5 meters.

Thanks

This will take a combination of View Filters and Visibility/Graphics changes.

  1. Give each split surface a unique identifier, I suggest using their Mark or Comments properties. Then set up a view filter for each split surface. Then in the V/G menu, under the Filters tab, use these view filters to change the projection lines' colors of each split surface. See the first image below.
  2. In V/G (or Object Styles if you want this to be a project-wide change), under Topography, change the Primary and Secondary contours projection line colors to what you desire. This will change the main topography element's contour colors. See the second image below.

The question is not about how to change colors in each topography, but how to have different intervals of contours for each topography. Since those settings are global for each project, probably the user needs to create separate files, use a different interval in each file, and then put together the files as links.

Good catch, I didn't see that distinction in their post.

Hi,

Having different contour levels for topography isn't possible in one and thesame Revit project file.

Depending for the Reason you can put the 2 of the 3 part in 2 different revit files and set the contour levels according. (+ maybe use designoptions to keep originals in main project)

Then link the 2 revit files, this should do the trick. (maybe even create a 3D and levelview in the links to reference to for any other overrides.)

Exact workflow will depend on desired result. project scope/editing etc.

From your description, it just sounds like you want to add colored intervals.  Add some more Toposurface Subcategories under Manage=>Object Styles and then assign them to Additional Contours under Massing & Site=>Site Settings like this:

If you want to override contour colors or line patterns in certain view, do it the typical way through VGOs.

...or maybe along these lines?
