I'm trying to add a diameter symbol to a text box. Can somebody tell me how this is done?

Did you read the first response? I suppose it's an issue if you don't know how to do it but there it is.

Easiest yet. select text tag, then right clickin that text, opens a line of options, select symbols, opens everything you might need.

So in Revit 2023 at least... As you are typing your text, Right Click, you should see "Symbols" under the typical copy paste options.  Click on Symbols and you will have all the traditional options to chose from.  Good Luck.

Yes, this method is fairly recent. In older versions using ALT+ASCII Code, or character map were the ways to do it.
