Diagrammatic plans,

is there an option or way to turn shadow receiving off on certain materials? or to assign certain objects/objects with a certain material to not cast shadows?

I'm working on a site plan where we want to see exterior walls casting shadows, but no shadows on the interior plan. Any alternative way of tackling this without post processing would also be appreciated. I know this can be done in several other programs easily but I'm are trying to automate the process.

thanks

 for one View only:

  • select the elements that you do not want to cast shadows and Modify >View >Override by Element >Surface Transparency - increase a little the level of it...

for all Views

  • allocate to all the selected objects a slight transparent material

What about overlaying views on sheet?

if you think that the slight transparency still bother you , then you can overlap the partial transparent with shadows over the duplicate with no shadows in a sheet view:

  • image 1 -the view without transparencies and without shadows:

  • and image 2-  the Duplicate with shadows and selected items override with a slight transparency:

the transparency doesn't bother me, but if you are not pleased , then overlap image 2 over image 1

  • the image placed on sheet : image 2 over image 1:

Hi @nathan.garcia7M3RT ,

Welcome to the Revit Architecture forum. Thank you for submitting your question in our discussion forums.

It looks like Constantin's suggestions to hide shadow from certain objects with a certain material help,  so for now, I will mark this thread as "Solved." This won't prevent other folks from commenting on this question though, in the event other ideas come up!
