Detail Group glitch

Dear Autodesk,

We have discovered a serious glitch for Detail Groups in Revit:

We use Detail Groups in 3D views as this is a useful way to quickly generate diagrammatic drawings during the earlier stages of a project.

We have set up a number of section views showing the same area at scales 1:5000 and 1:750. We have used the ‘Paste Aligned to Current View’ command to paste the Detail Groups so that the Detail Groups should be in the same place on the 1:5000 section views and the 1:750 section views. Most of these section drawings were created by using the copy/move command in a Plan View to copy the first section we created into other locations.

However sometimes these Detail Groups move, or the Detail Lines and Filled Regions move within the Detail Group. This glitch appears to happen when the View Crop or the Annotation Crop of one of the views is changed. As the Detail Groups are fundamental to the accuracy of the drawings we are sharing with our client, this glitch is totally unacceptable, and Autodesk need to fix this glitch ASAP.

We are using Revit 2021, Build:

21.0.0.383

20200220_1100(x64)

I noticed this type of glitch also whilst using Revit 2018 a couple of years ago. At that time my impression was that the same glitch occurred if a Detail Group was used in a Drafting View and also in a Detail View. When the Detail Group was edited in the Drafting View, some Filled Regions and Detail Lines inside the Detail Group would be flipped or rotated inconsistently in the Detail View, or visa versa. We request that Autodesk also review this glitch so that we can continue to use Detail Groups in confidence.

Our view is that using Detail Groups successfully in this way is an excellent way of making Revit use efficient and effective at all design stages, as well as helping less experienced staff become familiar with the benefits of Revit. Therefore fixing this problem now would help sustain the large profits that Autodesk currently enjoys.

I'd like to replicate what you are describing on my end. Can you provide the steps to replicate the issue?

hi please see the following screenshots for detail group glitch before and after crop view is edited - there is no reason why these 2 things should be related and/or effect each other that i can see.detail view 1.pngdetail view after view range changed.png

Hello, I am experiencing exactly the same issue. Is there any solution to avoid this behaviour apart from not copying and pasting detail groups across views?
