Detail Component - Lap Siding. Where is it?

Does anyone know why there is no lap siding detail in the revit library? I find videos from 2014 or so and they have the lap siding detail in there, but 2020 apparently does not?

Otherwise, does anyone have that detail they could link?

What about repeating a single roof shake?

Just make a repeated detail component from scratch...

I did see the shingles, but for whatever reason they don't tile/array correctly. Ideally they would be at the angle for exposure, but when trying to use the repeat, they sit inside each other.

sounds like you didn't set the correct "Spacing" value under the TYPE Properties.

Well then, modify the Shake family. It's Parametric. All the parameters you need are there.  It's an easy modification.  Good practice too.

- Create a detail component family for one siding, name it Siding, load in project

- Create a repeating detail component from Annotate tab > Detail component dropdown

- Edit the Type, duplicate to create a new Type, name it Lap Siding, choose Siding for Detail and config Layout as you need
