Design options - levels?

is it possible to, once Design Options (exterior elevations), have been started, to adjust a level height for all DO's?  i.e.  client wants floor/floor height changed from 16' to 17'.  any way to do a workaround the "An insert in the main model cannot be hosted by an element in a Design Option."  ?

thank you.

Could you explain what the solution/answer was? This can help other users who might have similar issues.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

just simple modeling...had components still in model that had to be moved into the different options.

I'm curious, do you pretty much have to copy all of the 2nd floor elements into the alternate level height option in order to make the change occur as intended, or are you simply adjusting the level height on the fly? We've tried to simplify level options on our end by binding level heights to global parameters and adjusting the "project stackup" all in one place. As long as you've correctly hosted and referenced your content in the project, this should work well. Stairs are usually an issue however, so we end up adding the stair change into a design option per level choice.

I am a bit confused about this.

We have a building which we have proposed a design option for where all the levels are lifted on the site by 1.5m. We have modelled all the floors so that they are hosted to levels in the main model.

When we try to create a design options that reflects the change of level though we are unable to import the levels into the design option. Furthermore we are unable to move the floors within the option set because they are hosted to the levels (which are outside the option set). I am pretty sure there is an easy way to do it. I am just baffled as to what it is. Any helpful souls out there?

Is the option identical to the primary except for the elevation change?

No. There are small tweaks. Changes in some walls and floor profiles.

Do you have any advice on this on this one?

Create a new level and draw or copy paste elements align to that level. Then move the original to one Design Option, and move the elements on the new level to the another Design Option.

ok thanks, however co-ordination wise this will not be easy as there are 12 levels (not floors but levels for ponds/landings etc) with a multitude of elements hosted to them.

If anyone else knows of a simpler solution please add your piece.

Draw the alternate option in a separate file and link it in.

And then copy the linked file into the design option and bind it? Will that work? Ill give it a go when i'm next in front of my Revit computer.

I don't think you even need to bind the blink. Just turn it on for the alternate views and turn it off for the primary views.
