Depth of Stair

Hello. I have checked the depth of view range and it is unlimited but I cannot see the last thread of the stair from ground floor to basement.

When I scroll over I can see it but dont know how to resolve the issue. Thanks.

Place a section through the stairs and share the image

Here is a section through stairs.

Interestingly, in wireframe mode I can see the missing last step of the stair but not in hidden line mode.

Thanks

Hi Vcendoya,

I think what happens is that the stairs first and last steps are hidden by your floors!

two solution to that:

  • offset your stairs by a small amount (1mm, or 1/20 of an inch)
  • or use the Show Hidden lines tool to make them appear (View>Graphics>Show hidden lines)!

Anyway, the real issue is that your last step is in conflict in reality with the slab... so either there is a cut in the slab or the stair itself stops earlier on...

Hope this is of help,

Bon courage,

François

I wanted to see the section with levels. Anyway, try these 2 options:

  1. Duplicate the view (Don't use as a dependent). If the line of first step appears, then this have been definitely modified using linework.
    If that's the case, go to your original view and open the Linework command (LW), on top choose line style <By Category> then click on the hidden line and it will appear again.

  2. Isolate the stair and see if the first step appears. If it appears, then maybe a detail item or other element is hiding it.

Good luck!

If you can see it in wireframe mode then your floor finish is covering it.  Do you have a thin layer of floor finish on top of the main floor by any chance?

@ToanDN

Thanks for your message.

I have recorded a screencast and I dont see the floor is covering the last tread of the stair. Please see bellow.

@BIM.Consultant

I f I duplicate the view, it appears. Line weight was already as per category.

If I isolate it, it also appears.

@FGPerraudin

I have offset the stairs and it doesnt work. I f I revealhidden lines, it doesnt make any difference or no hidden lines form stairs appear.

Mistery goes on..

I said nothing about line weight. Please read my previous post carefully. I'm talking about Linework and there is no way to click a line to know if it is set <by category> or not.

Since it appears when you duplicate the view, then some changes are made inside your view.

Now do the following, Duplicate with detailing:

If the line does not appear, then you have 2D element hiding it, try turning off Annotation categories to confirm.

If the line appears, then it goes back to what I said before. You should use the linework command to modify the visibility of this hidden line.

You have made me very curious.

Could you, by any chance, send an "extract" of your project ? (group the top and bottom floors with the stairs, then save the group as a revit file)

There must be a very reasonnable and logical thing happening here...

There mus be a trick...

For some reason I can't see or watch any of the attached screencast! Not loading.

Is it a stair by created by sketch? Or a Stair on which you have used the tool "Convert"?

Problem solved, I had a pad obstructing the visibility of last step. I unchecked the visibility box and that's it!

Thanks again to you all.
