Deleting Imported Autocad File From Revit 2017

I see that this topic has been covered years ago but none of the posted solutions seems to apply to my case.  Working in Revit 2017 - imported (not linked.....and I know better now) an AutoCad file to use as my 2D base drawing.  I can see the CAD drawing in all views but cannot click, open or activate it at all.  I have tried Purge Unused, Manage Links and Window Select and none of those work in may case......the CAD file does not appear in any lists or directories when I try those.  I did open Dynamo and got wildly confused w that so I backed out of it.  Any advice to delete the CAD file would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

I'd try to use Dynamo....as in this example...you'll have to look for Dynamo Packages appropriate to Revit 2017

Have you checked these 2 buttons? Uncheck them and try to select the CAD underlay again.
