Delete Unused Project Browser Parameter

The views in this Revit file are organized view by "View Purpose" and then family and type. There is a duplicated parameter that needs to be removed from the drop-down list so users cannot select it. The old parameter "4 documentation" has been replaced by "3 documentation", however, the old parameter is still showing in the list.

All views have been changed and there are no views in the project browser containing the "4 documentation". All view templates have been changed as well. I was thinking the unused "4 documentation" would be removed on its own once each view/view template was changed, however, it is still in the selection box as seen in this image:

How can I remove this "4 documentation" from the drop down list?

You can do that through a Schedule.

My assumption is that it must still be hiding in a view somewhere. To elaborate on Barth's comment, make a schedule of all views (no filters or anything), sort by your "View Purpose" parameter, and uncheck "Itemize every instance". You should be able to find the culprit.

@barthbradley

I am not seeing any views with the old parameter. The view list schedule also confirms there are no views with the old "4 documentation":

The only other area I can think of are view templates with that parameter still set. However, I have checked all view templates via "manage view templates" and have changed them all.

Are there any other settings besides views and view templates that you can think of that this would still be keeping this parameter?

Is the Project Parameter assigned to any other category?

Could it be that other categories are also using the View Purpose parameter?... like Schedules or Sheets?

If not, it must surely be lurking in some view template somewhere. Any template belong to a seldom-used discipline you may have overlooked?

I found it hiding in an unused view template. Thanks.

The answer to this is, you don't have to click inside the box, just on the name without it being selected and then it will no longer be grey and you can delete it.
