Recently I was working on a filling element that was required to fill in between the concrete slab and an architectural floor. The geometry of the floor wasn't traditional (flat surface). Therefore I used the 'Modify Sub Elements' option to define various heights to different parts of the element (as you can see in the image below).
Everything worked fine until I exported it to IFC format. The geometry is deformed when exported into IFC. Don't know the reason why. I've tried exporting in other versions of IFC (2x3, 4, etc.) along with changing the detail level to 'high' in the export options and still didn't achieve a complete form of the object, see image below.
Excessive lines began to appear on some parts of the floor. However, when I un-tick the 'Variant' option of the floor in 'Edit Type', then the geometry in the IFC seems ok, see image below.
But this is no use because the heights should not remain the same on various sections of the floor.
Are there any ways that I can export the floor element to IFC with the 'Variable' option ticked?
Hi @b.ipek
Please check this exporting model from Revit 2022 with https://github.com/Autodesk/revit-ifc/releases amd then check IFC in Solibri.

Did you try to check the exported IFC in a different IFC viewer? I 've seen several odd display/behaviors in certain IFC viewers namely that of Solibri...where faces are either deformed, or appear with excessive triangulation or voids being displaced/elements uncut and/or category/layer colors inconsistent.
Checking the same export in a different viewer 99% or the times turns out fine
Not what causes that and whether Autodesk and Solibri are aware of the above glitch and/or if there any collaboration between them at all when it comes to IFC stuff

Yes, I have tried with other IFC viewers as well... unfortunately all the same
It's worth a try. Will keep this post updated once I'll try anything else. Thank you.
