Default mark value for door families

For some reason unbeknownst to me, the standardized door families i have set up in my office have started getting trailing letters (full line of text) as the default mark value when inserting or copying. 

I can't figure out how to edit the default mark value of doors, even after googling around extensively.

I usually adjust all doors with a dynamo script that adjust them all according to adjacent rooms, but it's still sort of an eyesore to me - Any input would be welcome, thank you.

I have PyRevit always running in Revit.

I don't see this as a Dynamo issue, but rather a general setting for mark values in Revit. I am just as interested in the cause of the issue as in a fix for it.
