Hello, does anyone know how can i cut the topography inside a building, i know about the building pads but this is only for the perfect vertical cuts, but what can i do when its slanted ? Is it possible?
Thank you!
Slanted like you show in the image is not possible. Pads are really the only thing that cuts toposurface elements and they only cut vertically.
You might be able to "fake it" somehow by cutting with a pad and then adding a shape edited floor back in and setting its material to earth to get the slanted part? Or maybe you could model in place the slanted part? IDK I would have to experiment with it to see what the best solution would be.
How would you make that cut in the field? How would you shore up that angled cut?
the hard way that i was thinking was to slice that part of the toposurface, than transform it into mass with dynamo and cut with a void, i dont know if its working or not, but i thought it will be another way easier than this.

Everything looks like a nail when Dynamo is your "hammer". ![]()
Do you cut the earth at an angle or do you build angled retaining walls around the building?
Here is a stab at it with a pad and an in-place family set to topography category. Depending on the surrounding conditions this can be much more difficult, but I got close.
Nothing super special. I just made a toposurface than placed the pad. After than I went back an added an in-place family that was created in the toposurface category and modeled the shape into position where the pad cut away to toposurface. Like I say, the modeling of the in-place family could be tricky if you have a really complex toposurface it might be more trouble than it is worth.
