Hi there,
I've created a curved wall with mass in place. I'm trying to cut it to allow for the triangle curtain wall to show through.
I've tried with mass void and a component void, but nothing seems to cut this wall. is there any way to cut this wall or divide it to allow for these curtain walls to act as windows?
Thank you ![]()
Hmm....I am able to cut thru extruded wall using void. Perhaps upload the sample so we can take a look.
Did you trying cutting the mass in the same in-place instance? or were you cutting the Wall by Face instance using a in-place generic model void?
Both case in the below youtube...

Hi,
Thank you for the video. That's exactly what I did, cut a void after creating a wall by face. Unfortunately, I got an error message that the void is not cutting anything, though I checked in every view possible that it was cutting through the wall. I did find another way around it: I created a roof instead, then I could use the shaft tool to cut through it.
Thank you for your help.
I'd create a series of Named Reference Plane in order to create a frame using Mass >Divide Surface> UV Grids and Intersects>Intersect List - from Surface Representation > activate Nodes (so to be able to snap on them) and make the the CW as UV Grid Pattern.
Then Wall by Face . Cut them by Void Families ( Adaptive Family) .The Nodes created in Mass Editor will be used as guide for placing the Adaptive Family -Void.
and a rough screencast showing the way I did it...
