Use Cut Geometry to cut the protruding blocks back to a Ref. Plane.

hello,

thank you for the replay, but my issue was not solved

your solution work for one element , but i have a lot element , and it's very time consuming to do it one by one for over a 100 element .

i can't select many element and cut them with the cut geometry cause when i select cut geomatry it only allaw me to select one object and then select the other i would like to cut to it,

any other solution

Screenshot_4.png

i tryed to group, and assemble the block together but when i select cut geomatry it allaw me to select only one block

So, you removed my solution credit not because it doesn't work, but because it's too much work???   Seriously?

  • Select the beam system and use Remove Beam system from the ribbon to break it to individual beams
  • Draw a ref plane where you want to trim the beams
  • Cut geometry > tick Multiple Cut box from option bar
  • Pick one beam > pick the ref plane > pick the rest of the beams > all beams will be trimmed

Another way:

  • Don't use beam system
  • Draw one beam and cut it with a ref plane
  • Select the beam AND the ref plane and make a model group
  • Array the group

sorry if my action offended you,
i didn't removed your solution credit because it was too much work, i removed it to show that my problem was not solved yet and i didn't want to creat a new post for the same problem.
if i create a new family of my cuted Block and copy/past/array it multiple time would take less time than cutting every block on it own,
sorry one more time

i think you misunderstood my problem

i don't have problem with the beam system, i have problem with the holow block that is penetrating the main beam

the holow block were put manualy "copy/array.."

here in hidded line

here when i ued cut, but cut can be only done for on hollow block

thank you

Do you realize that your reply posts contain over 100 letters? It took more work to type those 100 letters than it would have taken to cut 100 blocks using Cut Geometry with Multiple Instances checked.

thank you again for replying

i think that cut multiple doesn't work in my case cause

- if i start by selecting one block, then the beam " to cut the block" :Ok-Abzeichen:, then selecting another block , doesn't seem to work

Screenshot_13.png

- if i start by selecting the beam , then the block "to cut" :daumen_runter:, i will get a hol in my beam, if i select other block they

keep making hole in the beam according to the block i click on , and that's quick but not what i want to do.

anyway , i think i'll do it one by one before copying the next floor,

thank again

The sequence I told you is for using a Ref Plane to cut multiple beams in one go.  You couldn't make it work because you did not use a ref plane, but another beam to cut them.  In such case, you would be using Join geometry, not Cut geometry:

- Join geometry, tick Multiple Join box

- Pick the main beam

- Pick multiple beams using CTRL + click
