cut and fill

is it possible to get an accurate cut and fill without building pads? the excavate tool works out the cut, but doesn't help for fill.

or is there a way to change the points of a toposolid without it changing the rest of the surface, to imitate fill?

This can be done through a Schedule for greater detail.

Help | Video: Calculate Cut and Fill Volumes | Autodesk

You can create a Graded Region and change points from existing (as described in the video)

You can create a Sub-division and edit the volume to meet your needs in the correct phase

You can still create a cut and fill schedule, but without the building pads feature it isn't accurate because you have to alter individual points of the topo to create a pad, which alters the entire slope of the graded region. This adds thousands of cubic metres to the fill quantity.

Does anyone know a solution to this?

I use three toposolids:
The first is the existing soil and trenches in it
The second is a new covering of the site, with which I excavate the existing soil
The third is a thick backfill from which I cut the existing soil, excavate the site covering and underground structures.

Have you considered the Excavate Tool?

As you can see in the link by the end of this answer, you can, but unlike RVT 2023 and previous versions, it will take you A LOT of time once your toposolids gets more complex, with different materials.

I would recommend doing site projects on RVT 2023 until Autodesk completes Toposolid's Beta testing.
