Custom Sections Tags

Hello,

I'm trying to make a custom section tag in Revit but I don't want to use a box or bubble. I'd like it to work similar to an elevation tag (attached below) where the text auto rotates with my symbol (an arrow) so the text is always above or below the arrow. I've made two different tags (horizontal and vertical) so it looks right in plan. However, it doesn't seem to work right in the elevation views. The text ends up horizontal and half in my rotated arrow so it's hard to read (also attached). Does anyone know how to fix this? I've looked at several videos and haven't found an answer yet.

Thank you!

Many people had the same question. By Autodesk Help, there is no built in option for this. You need a workaround.

I would create a separate section marker family without the label and use it with a separate view reference for rotated sections.  Yes I would have to manually place and coordinate the views but I would have more flexibility with the angle.  Horizontal sections can still use the normal family with the label built in.
