Custom object style for a revit link?

Anonymous

Hi, I want a linked revit model to be displayed in white in a 3D view. Overriding Visibility Graphics does not work, as it only changes lines and patterns, and I need materials to be changed. I do not want to mess with my project's object styles as it is only for this view.

The only way out I see is duplicating the linked file and changing the materials on it, but it seems too complicated. Is there an easier way?

Underlay? Under the Revit Links Tab in VGOs.

It can be achieved. First select the link and set the phasing map of the consultant model existing as their new construction. As well you must make sure there is a phase after that so you can change the new construction as phase 1.phase mapping.png

In the phase setting, set the surface pattern to white. Change the phase filter to show ALL. This will make the model white while the other one set in color.

If you want to override the material, you can click on the phase - exist and override the color to white.

Map all the phases of the link to the Existing phase of your model and change the material for Existing to white (under Phases > Graphic Overrides).

It is a bug in Revit. I think it has been fixed in 2021 or 2020.

****Never mind. Updating my post here. I needed to change my Phase filter from Show Complete to Show All. Hope this helps someone

I am trying to do this and it works except in one of my 3d views that has a view template assigned to it.

There is something in my View template that is making it not work. Any thoughts?

I do not want to render this view. I just export the view out as a JPG. I want everything white. I'm using Revit 2024

Make sure the View Template use Show All for Phase Filter.
