Custom Mullion Profile

I am trying to create mullion profile in Family

Using "Metric Profile-Mullion.rft" template.

After I import the Mullion profile from CAD

I am not getting any output or error.

It’s blank.

Please advice

Also please clarify the below quires.

  1. Importing CAD or other format what is the minimum distance Revit detects (ex. 0.5 between points) if it’s less than Revit limitation what is the solution?
  2. Importing CAD into Revit curves are accepted or not. If accepted what is the minimum detectable arc length?

Accepted solution

-Load the autocad file in the profile family (I used Revit 2019).

-Use the line tools to trace over the dwg file.

Make sure you end up with a SINGLE CLOSED loop.

-Remove the Autocad file from the family.

-Load profile into Revit and create your curtain wall

Keep the profile as simple as possible. All the small details will just increase file size and degrade performance without much added benefit

In Revit the smallest line you can draw is around 0.8 mm length.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

If the mullions are for both vertical and horizontal then you will see gaps at every intersection using the profile you are sharing.  Keep in mind that mullions don't sweep, they run straight.

It is better to use a simple rectangle profile with a nested detail component family set to show only for Fine detail level.
