Custom Material Images are gone in Revit 2020?

I have always created my own custom material images within standard materials, and it appears that Revit 2020 has done away with that ability. Trying to make a gorgeous verdigris copper appearance, but the image file cannot be changed. I can upload my own Relief Pattern, but that hardly changes the material appearance. Why did Autodesk change this? Am I missing something?

Because we use Insight analysis extensively, and we want accurate thermal and physical properties for our envelope materials. I can certainly create a generic metal, but I then must input the properties manually. With 350 people in the firm, I know they won’t do that. So I’ll have to create custom alternative generic metals with full properties and controllable appearance and provide those within our firm-wide project templates.

I'm confused. I think you set up the materials and assign assets and share the material library... perhaps I don't understand the issue...

Hi @Anonymous ,

I simply had to message to let you know you make complete sense, this forum has a couple of people with low interpersonal skills who seem hell-bent on ridiculing those who seek help.

Revit manages Appearance, Physical & Thermal assets separately.  So your desired workflow would be to duplicate an existing similar metal (along with it comes Physical & Thermal assets) then replace the Appearance asset from the browser or duplicate it and customize from there.
