Custom Filled Regions

Does anyone know if Autodesk is addressing the Filled region issue of not being able to create, what I would call simple, filled regions?  I would like to create a model filled region for board and batten vertical siding.  Is it really that hard?  I just want one vertical line 8" away, and one more line 1" away from that line repeated on the face of a wall.  I tried to do it with the Foreground and Background properties in the material but model filled regions can't be in the Background slot?  I also tried to import a PAT file from AutoCAD and can't seem to modify that to work either.  I'd really rather not array detail lines and trim to my elevations in each view.

I think Filled Regions is somewhere Autodesk needs to spend a little more time, or at the very least give us some default options or just enhance the "simple" option.

I would be very grateful for some tips on how to make this filled region.  Thank you.

Regards Peter.

Post an image of what you are describing, as well as that PAT file you mentioned.

Revit has Drafting and Model. If you place 1" or 8" in drafting, it won't let you do it because the scale it too large. If you place the same pattern in model, it will work.

As well if you want the PAT to work with Revit, you have to add this text to the hatch pattern.

Drafting hatch - ;%TYPE=DRAFTING

Model hatch - ;%TYPE=MODEL

You'll get crickets on Autodesk's end in response to this - its been requested for quite some time now. Similar frustration from our end led us to creating Pattycake.io

If you give me more specifics on the pattern, I can quickly make it for you. But you can also make a free account with us. Our Draw In Web tool allows up to 3 lines with the free version, so you should be able to make this PAT with the free account 🙂 And then that way you can save it to your account and adjust it in case the design changes (or should I say, 'when the design changes')

Not in this case of a simple pattern containing two repeating unbroken lines.
