Custom Area Tag

Hello,

Id like to create a custom area tag that would allow me to track Function of Space, Occupancy, Area and Occupant Load Factor and then calculate the Occupant Load. Ive tried modifying the stock revit area tag, but get stuck when creating a category parameter to create a new label. Suggestions? Does anyone already have such a tag?

Thanks!

You need to:

- create shared parameters for Function of Space (text), Occupancy (text), Occupant Load Factor (Area)

- edit Area tag and add new labels using the above parameters

- for Occupant Load, add a new label as a Calculated value parameter with the formula: Area/Occupant Load Factor

Thanks for the reply ToanDN. When creating a shared parameter, do I need to specify a parameter file? Im not sure what that is. Can you explain how to load a shared parameter file from the Edit Shared Parameters window?

Yes you need to have a shared parameters text file.  Open file in Revit: Manage> Shared parameters, and add the entries I described in the last post.  Then add new labels in the tag family and add the parameters to the labels (see attached).
