Curved sweep on a curved path

Hi,

I am trying to create a light fixture that is curved on 2 planes. I need the path to curve and the profile to curve, but whenever I di that Revit gives me an error without an explanation. Any idea how I could model this light fixture?

The radius is too small for Revit to create the sweep.  The inside radius must be more than 0.

@ToanDN   Aha, but how do I change the inside radius to be more than 0 if it is determined by the profile? See snippet. Do I change the profile to be...? Not sure how to do this.

Change the path, not the profile.  It maybe easier create the path on the inside so that you can draw a minimum radius directly.

Ahhh yes...but my light is only 160mm wide so it looks too weird with a bigger curve. Oh well, I will draw it without the extra curve in the path.

The create two sweeps, one outside with a curved path, one inside a rectangle path. Then join them.

As @ToanDN said, you may think about the Path, and about the Profile origin (base point).

Your Profile sketch doesn't fit the Path dimensions because it's created from the outer corner and Revit may not know how to solve the Sweep for the inside corners.

a. You could create the Profile from an inner origin and then rearrange the Path to be the internal shape of your fixture. You'll hardly control the outside curve dimensions with this option.

b. You could also keep working with your setup but reducing the wideness of your Profile to let Revit solve the Sweep internal curve.

Within this 2 options above you would create an internal box to fill the hole and then join both geometries.

c. The best you could do for this particular shape is to make a Solid box with the desired dimensions for your fixture and then create a Void Sweep all around the box to achieve your "Curved sweep on a curved path".

Regards.
