Hi All,
I've been tasked with attempting to get a curved pattern of different sized perforations on a curtain wall system of standard rectangular panels. Curved pattern denoting different levels of perforation:
Using wall profiles or mass voids on a curtain wall won't cut the panels to the curved shapes, so I'm guessing Dynamo will have to be used to somehow transfer these shapes onto the wall using an 'intelligent' panel family.
I think the Dynamo process would be something like:
- Create curtain panel family that has multiple 'intelligent' perforations
- Somehow make these perforations respond to an image file (size based on brightness)
- Somehow make a wall full of these panels respond to an image file
Is there a 'standard' way of doing this or will this only be possible via Dynamo?
If only Dynamo is capable of doing this, can someone point me in the direction of how? I can only find scripts that create a single perforation/hole within a panel, rather than a panel having multiple perforations of different sizes.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Using wall profile will cut system curtain panels to any shape.
If you use custom panels then use a solid form mass, not void, to cut them.
To add to this for future reference.
I attempted to use the 'Curtain System by face' tool on mass shapes as I thought this could save some time due to having to use the cut tool on each panel individually when using the method above, but no matter what I do it doesn't seem capable of aligning the material pattern correctly at all:
Standard curtain wall
Curtain System by face
This doesn't seem like it should be such a challenge to create in Revit in 2024.
