Curtain wall panel

Dear all

I tried to do my own facade wall panels (curtain wall family - aliminium) and tried to insert it to my project. But unfortunately, it blocks my windows in my project. How should I make a cut (void) to make my windows not blocked?

Regards

Ankhaa

Hi, yes,

Here is my project where I cant cut my curtain wall panel to get to see the window. Maybe I did my family curtain panel wrong?

Any suggestions? P.S I included my curtain wall family revit file.

Best regards

Ankhaa

Because the OTB Window families host into regular Walls, and only cut their host. They will no more cut a separate Curtain Wall that's near them than they will cut a Cabinet family that's near them.

You will want to edit the Window family, add a Void extrusion, check the Cuts with Voids option, and reload it back into your project. Then for each location, manually use the Cut tool to cut the Curtain wall with the Window.

You sure about that @chrisplyler?

@Anonymous: Your panel doesn't flex, so you need to design additional panels to meet those conditions, as well as other conditions. For instance, what if the total length and height of the curtain wall is not exactly divisible with your panel?  Maybe a CW is not the way to go here.

Nope. Just drew upon a vague, generic, half credible memory floating around my brain.

But lots of threads have some wrong answers mixed in, so I wasn't too worried.

been there; done that....and still do it from time to time.

Still, you've still got one of the best closing records on the forum: 12.46% solutions to posts. Me, on the other hand: 0.07% solutions to posts. Embarrassing. They ought to terminate my membership. Ha!

Lots of my posts aren't even attempts at solutions. They're just wise cracks or other useless commentary. Like this post, for example.

I figure my actual closing ratio would be about 40%. And I figure yours would be too, if we could get rid of that mysterious @ToanDN dude. Maybe put out some orange construction cones along his motorcycle route. Make it look like an accident. Then you, Constantin, Alfredo and I could RULE THE WORLD MMMMWWWWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (evil genius laugh)!
