Curtain wall/panel and mullions

Hi

I am trying to create a curtain wall and need some help. I usually work in MEP but I have a task to do in Revit Architecture. Here are some difficulties I am facing

1. Creating a hollow mullion. Whenever I create the shape in the mullion family template and try to import the family into my project I get an error that I have more than 1 loop. Is there a workaround or another method to create a hollow mullion?

2. When I place the vertical mullion on the curtain wall there is a gap in the mullion where the glass should rest, however, this doesn't happen in the model. First comes the mullion then the glass starts where the mullion ends. Basically I want the glass to kind of overlap the mullion. In other words, both are like a jigsaw piece where the glass fits into the gap in the mullion.

Thanks in advance.

1. Profile can only have one closed "polyline", or loop. You can embed a detail family in the profile so that the frame will show with more detail on plan and section views.

Another method is build the mullion frame into the curtain panel family, then you can model it hollow. This can take care of your 2nd question as well. Custom panels only work for rectangular configurations, by the way.

2. If you use profiled mullion frame and still want the glass panels to overlap, then use custom panel family. Edit the family and build the geometry extend pass the left and right reference planes the overlapping distance and constrain them properly.
