Curtain Wall Door Panel Family

I need to insert a double door into the curtain wall and I have found this  curtain wall door family. However I am not able to use it, the "create instance" is grey out. Edit Type is grey out, how to fix this ?  I have attached the family here.

Select a curtain panel in the curtain wall and change it to the curtain wall door type.

But now I have another question which is related with phasing.  This is an existing storefront, we will remove the door in new construction but keep the rest.  However, when I click the door , phasing is gray out, how can I make it demolished in new construction?

No you cannot deviate phasing of panels from the curtain wall.  Here is a workaround:

- model the curtain wall under Existing phase

- set the panel you want to replace to Empty System Panel

- place another curtain wall in the hole, edit the curtain type so it match what supposed to be there, if you need to show an existing elevation; set this in0fill curtain wall to be demolished in New phase

- go to New phase, paste or place the in-fill curtain wall in the hole, change the panel to door

The infill curtain wall will have to have frames that overlap with the rest of the curtain wall.  I assume no way we can created just two curtain wall door panels without frames?

Yes you can.  Edit the in-fill curtain wall type and remove all frame assignment.

See example file attached.  Pic below show existing condition, existing & demo, and new, from left to right.
