I am working on a project where I am using butt glazed curtain wall ( a 3"x8" profile from Pioneer). I updated the mullion profile to show as it does in details (see the mullion profile attachment). However I am now left with these gaps between vertical and horizontal mullions (see the mullion issue attachment). It appears to be the offset from the butt glazed joint to the edge of the mullion behind. I have tried switching between horizontal/vertical continuous, changing profiles, adjusting panels and nothing worked. The only thing that worked was using a 1"x1" profile but that is not correct. I have imbedded detail components in the mullion profiles so I would really like to avoid using a generic 1"x1" profile or some other solution along those lines.
Draw the profile for the main shape (red) only, nest a detail component show the complete shape (blue) and detailing. Your panel joint will show as single line in the model (which is cleaner IMHO), and the plan will show the true profile for the mullion as your picture.
Thank you for the input. That was a solution I was okay with but trying to avoid unless anything else didn't work, looks like I will need to go that route.
Any thoughts on the border conditions or would you take the same approach?
