Curtain pattern family

I want to give length parameter to this curtain based family. i am unable to give whenever i add length parameter and try to flex it it says constrains not satisfied. even if make sure the values are same as dimension it takes the parameter but during flexing it gives the error.

Curtain panels size are given by the grid layout of the curtain wall in the project. You cannot set those values in the family.

you can determine those values though by using a reporting instance parameter which can then be used to drive other parameters in the family.

thank for your response. my need is different i want to control that dimension in the project. if i select reporting parameter i wont be to control it. so i just want how can i add parametric length property to curtain pattern based family.

If you are wanting to control the length so that the family is not controlled by the pattern type then you need to not use the built in reference points. You need to use make your own ref points and control their location with your parameters.

the pattern will remain as it is but i want to add void to it so that in the main family i can wipe off part of some portion of this pattern. void i have created but i cant even give equal constrain parameter its so confusing.
