Hi,
I've created a series of custom windows for a project, some of which are wall hosted but some are curtain panel hosted. The wall build up behind varies in different locations so I have modelled the plasterboard reveal as part of the window and made the depth an instance parameter so I can adjust it using the little drag arrows in the project
This works fine in the wall hosted windows but in the curtain panel version of the same window, the arrows appear, but aren't draggable. I can enter values in the element properties and this works fine, but it's just the drag-ability and also the align tool seems to have no effect.
Is this a bug or intended behavior...?
We can work around it using the properties, I just wanted some explanation for our users, they are bound to ask why it doesn't work.
Thanks in advance
Thanks David, I understand what controls the extent of the panel, my question was related to Geometry within the panel. We have what we are calling popout windows on the project some are wall hosted and some are within a curtain wall because they are surrounded by cladding panels.
I have varying wall build-ups so there are two elements that need to be adjustable, 1 is the plasterboard reveal and the other is the flashing externally. In the wall hosted family, I can control these with instance dimensions and I can either drag them in the project to align with the adjacent wall build up, but in the curtain panel version of the same family, the grips appear, but they seem to be locked, I can however type values into the properties box and it does what I want, I was just trying to understand why the drag grips are there but not usable.
This is the wall based family, the curtain based family is identical in every way, but built into a curtain panel template.
