In one elevation my curtain wall railing is present and hiding what's behind it.
In another elevation, what I believe to be the same curtain wall is not appearing in elevation - or it's completely transparent.
Why?

Could you please add screenshots of the problems you do have? Furthermore, look at the list I provided in your other topic for reasons why it could be invisible.
Quick check; does it have the same view template?
I'm going to take a wild guess and assume you mean curtain wall PANEL, not railing. First, there is no such thing as curtain wall "railing". There's curtain wall "mullions" and curtain wall "panels". Since, you are talking about it "hiding what's behind it", I'm thinking you're referring to glazed paneling that you would expect to be transparent in the view. Glass material isn't transparent in an elevation view. It's opaque. If you want it to "look" transparent in the elevation view, you need to actually turn the category or element OFF in the view.
It sounds like someone turned off the Curtain Wall Panel Category and the Curtain Wall Mullion Category in the view you don't see either. Look for these Categories under you View's Visibility and Graphic Overrides. Or, Reveal Hidden Elements to verify.
