Hi, I have attached a mass I've created so that I could then create a curved glass section.  But the glass panels are staying straight.  Is there another way I can create this shape  The sloping roof portion I have now created in my actual project as a glass roof extrusion, just not sure how to get the curved glass panels follow the curve correctly.

I've even tried creating a wall by face from the massing & site tab but that seems to give me the correct triangular section but the 2.5m curved element doesn't follow the slope at the top, it comes out horizontal.

Any ideas please?!

Create roof by face and change to a thinner type with glass material, NOT sloped glazing. Then add curved mullions using adaptive family or model in place sweeps.

You can use a Curtain System as framework:

  1. First make a Curtain System on the curved surface of a mass element
  2. The Curtain System will have the horizontal and vertical grids placed on desired position and will have Empty Panels and no Mullions
  3. Then , in an elevation View , place Levels aligned with the  Curtain System's horizontal Grids ( as many Levels as horizontal grids)
  4. On each new created Level draw a Model Line using Pick Lines - Pick on ghost grid lines ( grid lines appear when you hover the mouse over them)
  5. Use this Model Lines as a Path when creating : Component > Model In Place> Generic Model > Sweep ( Pick Path) - create so , the horizontal curved mullions
  6. Now, create a thin glass Wall and use Wall by face selecting the curved surface
  7. Select the vertical grids and use Model Line , with Pick Lines to place the grid projection on the Level 1 plane
  8. Use the projection Lines as a base for mass elements ( vertical faces) - then in Project commands use Wall by Face. Join these walls with the thin glass wall  made in step 6
  9. Use the intersection of the two walls ( step 6 and 8) as path for another  sweep ( Component > Model In Place> Generic Model > Sweep > Pick Path) 
  10. So, you have created the "vertical" curved mullions

I didn't use you file but here are the basic steps to create curved glass panels using an adaptive generic family.  You can probably using the same method using a curtain panel pattern based.

 

This is for 2D curved panels (on a cylinder).  If you need 3D curved panels (on a dome or a free-form surface) then you need more adaptive points.
