What is the best technique for creating a cross gable roof that resides entirely "inside" of a main roof (see attached image). It is not like a true dormer with three sides, and I am not sure how to (1) create intersections between the main roof and the cross gable roof or (2) have the built-up fascia intersect with the main roof at the bottom. Thanks.

It's called a dutch gable. Model it like it will be built. One roof over another.
I searched all over the internet for an example of how to do this. Your screencast answers many questions. Thanks a lot.
Use the keywords "Revit Dutch Gable" and you'll find a dozen or more videos.
