Hello,
I need to make windows family where profiles, which are made one sides (perimeter) are different then those who are in middle.
When I try to make it trough sweep - I can't join two different sweeps together, so how it is possible to make window like this (see in picture) with different profiles?
Thanks.
In old window family I tried to join two sweeps but, I don't know why, it didn't work.
When I tried to make new family it worked.
I would model the window frame as just rectangle extrusions with minimal detail, then add the profiles as 2D details in the left/right view (for sections). This would keep the file size down and you would still see the extrusion detail in a section.
I tried to join the middle profile with perimeter profile in it shows that can't keep joined.
And I have used the same DWG file for drawing those profiles by picking lines.
I have attached my window family.
Please, can someone watch and explain me why joining is not working?
About which place are You talking about?
Because when I tried to join it when it was as one sweep I also couldn't.
please attached see if works. thank
I does not work for me because it makes those gaps on sides (See in picture).

If the sweep intersects at exact same point with different profile this won't work, but if you adjust them to low point of the intersection profile (red) ie. you can join them. Are those different profiles? Otherwise just draw a continuous sweep all around...
On this side of window I can also manage to join because there is different mullion but on the other side I cannot.
Maybe You can attach file so I can understand what You mean about this intersection?
And Yes, they are different profiles
