Creating Topography

Hello,

I am trying to fix this topography. I want it to appear with the streets. But I am not sure how to cut the topography boundary and even add the street into it.

Here's CAD file and RVT

CAD: "Lindero" layer is topography's boundary. "Avenidas" the streets. It already has elevation

RVT: I also did it in Revit but I don't know how to visualize those layer after creating the topography

And by the way, Is it possible to put some kind of river across it? It has two courses where the blue lines are

Thanks,

Isabel

Hi @Anonymous,

First off....I recommend keeping your "site plan" separate from the building model...just throwing that out before you might start a building on there.  Just link it in to the building model.  Also change the current topography to Existing.

So...for your road, I suggest using the roof tool.  Create it by footprint, then you can adjust heights at the node points.  The reason for a roof is so you can apply a sweep to the edge for the curbing and it will go uninterrupted vs a floor that only works segment by segment.  If civil has TOC elevations for you that makes things a lot easier as you can adjust the points to the correct height.  Since it looks like the topo is already showing the road slope, it should be pretty easy to make things line up.

If you need to get the topo to meet up with the road....create another topo in the "New Construction" phase.

Hi @Anonymous

Below is a link to a session from Autodesk University and one of Marcello Sgambelluri's many contributions ... It dates back to 2013 but I believe many of the methods and tricks there still apply today and I also believe that it would sort out the Problems you are having  with the site's topography and whatever Comes with it in Revit

@RDAOU & @chrisplyler

Ha ha...I was in that class at AU and RTC!!

Was going to post the same class, but the topography in the OP's model was pretty flat already, so didn't think it needed the beam trick.

Sorry, I had meant to reply to the OP. I don't think people realize - at first - that Chapter 6 is really all the prior chapters combined.

What a great explanation. Thanks a lot for the link

How does he select the whole borderlines when clicking the dwg. file from the split surface? I have to select it line by line
